Product Description Leupold RXIV Digital Rangefinder, Leupold RX-IV Boone and Crockett Edition Digital Laser Range Finding Binocular does even more than giving you the True Ballistic Range, MOA adjustments, or hold over points for reflective targets out to 1,500 yards. This unique digital rangefinder can help you find the trophy you've been hunting for. Based on the range to the animal you've targeted, Leupold RXIV Boone and Crockett Edition Digital Laser Rangefinder uses a unique digital Trophy Scale that will calculate the spread on game. Set it to calculate a 30- inch spread on a Mule Deer, and it will tell you if the Mulie you've targeted measures up. Measure anywhere from 10 to 60 inches, in increments of one inch. Of course you still have other high-performance features including seven rifle ballistics group settings, three bow settings, accurate measurements in feet, yards or meters, and more. Finally, Leupold've emblazoned this special edition Leupold rangefinder with the Boone and Crockett medallion., Mfg No: 62840, Manufacturer: Leupold
Amazon.com Product Description Close enough simply isn't good enough for Leupold, and probably not for you, either. Fortunately, Leupold's line of digital rangefinders offers features and performance unmatched in other optics. The ultimate smart rangefinder, the RX-IV offers precision ranging out to 1,500 yards, helping make up the difference between a hit and a miss. The RX-IV does more than just deliver the straight-line distance, however, as the tool also employs True Ballistic Range (TBR) technology to match the aiming information to the performance of your rifle or bow. By calculating the incline, line-of-sight range to the target, and a projectile's ballistics, the RX-IV provides both rifle and bow hunters the correct equivalent horizontal distance for precise shooting on an incline. In other words, you'll aim using the True Ballistic Range rather than the line-of-sight range. With practice, long-distance and/or steep angle shooting will become second nature. Simply dial in your RX-IV to one of seven TBR ballistic settings for your rifle and three for the bow to enjoy incredible accuracy (TBR is effective to 800 yards for most rifle cartridges).
The Boone & Crocket rangefinder includes a handy Trophy Scale mode. | The RX-IV rangefinder also lets you do something you can't do with any non-RX series rangefinder--use multiple modes at once to tailor your readings to the conditions. For example, are you scouting a whitetail in the rain? Use the Rain mode and 1st Target mode at the same time to achieve the most accurate range possible. Only RX series rangefinders give you the ability to adapt to changing conditions like this. Plus, Leupold's exclusive Quick Set Rotary Menu is intuitive and easy to use, giving you fast access to all the incredible performance modes of the RX-IV rangefinder. Perhaps the most useful feature of the RX-IV Boone & Crocket edition, however, is the Trophy Scale, which helps you determine if the game you're viewing is the trophy size you're seeking. The Trophy Scale is easy to use: simply activate the feature the same way you active other operating modes on the RX-IV, select the size of spread (in inches) you're looking for, and place the animal's rack inside the brackets. The RV-IV Boone & Crocket edition will then determine your distance to the animal and calculate the spread of the rack based on the new data. The feature helps promote selective hunting for mature big game species as a game management tool, a great advantage in maintaining balanced and healthy herd populations. The Trophy Scale is an ideal feature for hunters with a Boone & Crocket Big Game reticle on their riflescope, as the rangefinder's reticle is designed to correspond to the aim point on the Boone & Crocket reticle. Other features include the Leupold Plus Point, which gives you an added level of accuracy when pinpointing a target; a built-in inclinometer, which calculates the ballistics range to your target, then displays it as a holdover aim point, an MOA adjustment, or the equivalent horizontal distance; an 8x magnification level, with a wide field of view to track movement; a scan mode that continuously updates the range as you track a target or scan an area; a battery power indicator for easy battery level checks; a common CR2 lithium camera battery that changes easily in the field; a rugged, waterproof construction; and a black finish with golden sage highlights. The RX-IV rangefinder comes with a useful carrying case with a bungee/hook closure for silent operation in the field, a dog clip for attaching to your pack, and an internal pocket for carrying batteries, instructions, and other items. The rangefinder also offers a tripod thread, so you can keep it steady when acquiring your target. The RX-IV rangefinder caries a one-year warranty on the internal electronics. About Leupold From humble immigrant beginnings, Leupold grew--based on a promise of quality--to become a classic American company. In 1907, Fred Leupold set up a one-man shop at 5th and Oak streets in Portland to repair surveying equipment. He was joined by his brother-in-law, Adam Voelpel, and later by inventor John Cyprian Stevens, and the foundations for a century of success were in place. During Leupold's second half-century, the company focused heavily on the sports optics business. Leupold's presence in the hunting and shooting market expanded with innovative optics and features that are now legendary among hunters, shooters, and outdoors enthusiasts. Many of the industry's standards--nitrogen waterproofing, the Duplex reticle, and more--were Leupold creations.

| Customer Reviews: Leupold RX-IV DRF B&C Edition October 5, 2009 S. Beiser (Stead, Nevada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I used this fabulous range finder this weekend, even though this is my first range finder I hope it will be the only one I will ever need. This range finder works awesome, I used it to find the range of a mountain Billy Goat on top of a rock next to a tree 685 yards away with a 20 degree up angle. There are many features to learn as I am in the learning stage with this device. Like all new technology it takes time to master. I am looking forward to many more years of use with the RX-IV B&C. Being this is my first Leupold purchase I am looking forward to updating my scope to a leupold with B&C to complement the range finder. More updates to come as I triumph over technology. I can not think of any cons: for this range finder.
