Each Alumina flip-back lens cover features a powerful neodymium magnet to hold it securely closed over the lens, along with triple O-ring seals for maximum protection from the elements. More significantly, the cover flips open easily when you want to view an object through your Leupold 50mm riflescope, so you don't need to manually remove the cover before targeting an object. The cover is even clockable, so you can rotate it to open in any direction. Other details include a machined-aluminum precision construction, a low-profile design, and quick and easy operation. This particular cover is designed for Leupold 50mm and standard EP lenses, but covers are available for a variety of other sizes of eyepieces and objective lenses. About Leupold
From humble immigrant beginnings, Leupold grew--based on a promise of quality--to become a classic American company. In 1907, Fred Leupold set up a one-man shop at 5th and Oak streets in Portland to repair surveying equipment.  Great investment for a great scope May 18, 2010

Made in Malaysia! wow what happened to USA? My only gripe is when they are fully opened they stick up like those butler creek things. I think the description I read said that after opening they lay almost flat across the top of the scope. Also the Malaysia thing really threw me. Oh well, they fit great and are made very well.

I enjoy shooting my gun and so does my brother. I got these for my older brother because he saw the set I got and had to have them. The quality is unbelievable. They fit with precision and work smoothly and quietly.

I bought these for Christmas to go with a VX-2 4x12 50mm that Santa brought my son. I have a set on my VX-L as well. These covers aren't cheap, but they are solidly constructed, and I consider them to be a must for any Leupold scope. They open smoothly and quietly, and close firmly to protect the lens element. Kudos to Leupold for producing these.
