Good purchase but.... September 1, 2010 Golfer The battery compartment will not always stay closed. The battery sometimes falls out. I had to tape it shut. For what it cost I would think that Bushnell would have corrected this problem. Others I have talked to have experienced the same problem.
Bushnell Pro 1600 August 30, 2010 Weston Used the laser range finder for the first time last week on a flat course. The rangefinder is easy to operate.
The results were consistent with yardage markers and made it much easier and quicker to select the proper club.
Found I needed to take 2-3 measurements in some cases since the first reading was clearly not correct.
In general, a good, but not cheap, aide when the course does not have a GPS system.
Good product August 25, 2010 James (Indiana) Quick aquistion of target, accurate....carrying case needs to be reworked (hard to get range finder in and out)
Bushnell laser rangefinder August 18, 2010 Patrick Purchased the Bushnell Pro 1600 rangefinder on Amazon.com as a gift. Liked it so much, I returned a week later to buy another for myself and the price had risen by $50. Purchased it anyway and have been very satisfied with results. Occasionally, course pin placements are in odd situations where pin is hard to distinguish from background, resulting in difficult readings and a GPS unit would be helpful. But for the most part, the rangefinder gives me more than sufficient info and can identify significant hazards as well. Good for all courses with no updating.
Great product July 27, 2010 Willis K 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I Ordered this a couple weeks ago and love it. It only has two buttons so it is extremely simple to use and works flawlessly. The pinseeker mode is what I use all the time (compared to scan mode) because you know exactly when the pin is locked in. The only time this mode doesn't work very well is when you have to look at the pin through or close to trees in the foreground. This is because pinseeker mode gives you the closest object that the laser hits and locks onto that number. I haven't been able to compare this to other devices but I would definitely get a bushnell device with penseeker mode.
Pros:
-Pinseeker mode
-speed (acquires target in a fraction of a second)
-7x zoom makes everything very easy to see
-waterproof (haven't tested this but could come save this device one day)
-ease of use (point and shoot. Done)
-Size (bigger than others, fits great in two hands)
Cons:
-price compared to other busnell devices (you have to decide if the 7x zoom and waterproofing are worth it to you)
-size (the bigger size could be a con for some people)
